But what exactly is Botox Kent<\/strong> and what does having it injected into your skin actually do? Read on to find out!<\/span><\/p>\n

What is it and what does it do?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As mentioned earlier, the chemicals used in cosmetic injections are derived from the bacteria botulinum toxin A.<\/span><\/p>\n

Well known for its use in the field of facial aesthetics, it has also been used across the medical field to help patients with overactive bladders, chronic migraines and even incontinence. When it is injected under the skin in any area, it blocks nerve activity in the muscles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why is this important for cosmetic purposes? Because it stops facial muscles from contracting, causing the deepening of muscles and the formation of new ones.<\/span><\/p>\n

How will it be injected?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

First things first, you should only undertake these injections under the care of a trained, medical professional; luckily that applies to our team at Stangrove Court Dental<\/strong>!<\/span><\/p>\n

We will assess your face to determine the points which require the injections (we are trained in facial anatomy after all!). If you are concerned about discomfort, we will offer you a local numbing agent.<\/span><\/p>\n

Depending on the number of injections required, you can expect your appointment to take between 15- 30 minutes, allowing you to go about your day as you wish once the procedure is over.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aftercare tips and advice<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

While having these injections is fairly straightforward, they do require some aftercare.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can expect the site where you were injected to be sore and tender for a few days after the injections have been performed, along with some minor bruising and swelling. This should all resolve naturally, but if you notice a prolonged period of discomfort or increased swelling, contact our team immediately.<\/span><\/p>\n

While it can be tempting to rub your face, you must avoid doing this for a least 24 hours following the injections, as this can move the injected agent into a different area of the face. Apply a cool compress gently to the site if it is sore, and try to avoid sleeping directly on the treated areas if possible.
